I want my atiel to trust me?
Get a gloves and a towel and trimming wings isn't that hard...leave the 3 outside long ones on each wing untrimmed cut the rest 1/2 way their size. I had one I named TAZ after the devil because he was untame-able I had to get toenail clippers to nip the point of his beak off because of all the damage he was doing to my skin. He was a great singer and loved to be petted on the head WHILE HE WAS INSIDE HIS CAGE. I had rescued him from a home with an aggressive kitten/cat and it had him too scarred to work with. They love music. I think if you clip it and let it out of the cage, it will be easier to approach it once it is outside it's safe place. But go ahead and get it out clip it and even in a towel ...for a while get it used to being held and soon it will discover it's not being hurt and in time with patience you might get it to trust you an it will be a good bird for you.
