What is vale tudo, like in mma when they say somebody is a vale tudo fighter?
"Vale Tudo" is brazilian portugese for "Anything Goes." Although it is not a promotion or style of fighting it is very similar to the UFC of the early 90's. No gloves less rules, etc. So what commentators are getting at when they say a fighter is a "Vale Tudo" fighter is that he has experience in fighting where anything goes. In spanish it would be called "Vale Todo." Fighting with a lot of rules, time limits doesn't mean the fighter who wins is the best fighter. Its just a tough guy who learned to use those rules to win. That would be called "No Vale Tudo." Not Everything Goes.
